Curatorial introduction

Console as Architecture reduces furniture to span, line, support and cantilever. Long horizontal surfaces are carried by narrow legs, folded planes, sculptural loops, stacked geometric masses and unusual structural systems, making each object read as a piece of small-scale architecture. The collection is especially appropriate for entryways, galleries, workspaces and project interiors where a console or desk is expected to contribute a strong architectural gesture.
