About the artist / maker
Sondos Hamidian is an Iranian painter and graphic designer based in Tehran. Born in 1990, she received her B.A. in Painting from the Faculty of Art and Architecture at Islamic Azad University, Central Tehran Branch, in 2017. Hamidian's practice explores resilience, transformation, and the shifting relationship between light and shadow. Through symbolic and atmospheric imagery, her paintings engage with human vulnerability, endurance, and the mysterious forces of the natural world. Her work frequently brings natural forms into psychologically charged settings in which darkness, illumination, decay, and renewal coexist. Rather than presenting direct narratives, Hamidian constructs symbolic environments that invite contemplation of how individuals and nature endure change, injury, and uncertainty.
